Images from small town mid west.  Travels from the back roads and off the beaten path.

New images edited from the series old barns and buildings.  Both images are from Northwest Arkansas.  The old barns of the mid-west are slowly disappearing from the landscape.  It is sad that such an icon of the American farm is slowly fading away.

Received news on the PX3 show in Paris.  First Place Fine Art Still Life and an HM.  Thank you PX3.  Both images were made with my trusty old Hasselblad 500C and Ilford HP5.  I purchased the dress at the used clothing store for $5 and threw it in the water and made the images.

Working with long exposure images of the ocean near Dana Point California.  I stacked two ND filters and a polarizing filter on top of the ND's.  I set the ISO on my 5D mk2 to 50 or L on the screen to get the longest exposures possible with the ND set up I have.  I need to get another darker ND filter to get the exposure to be even longer.  If you are looking for something new to try with your digital camera, try the ND filters and long exposures.

Toured the San Juan Capistrano Basilica again today. The last time I was there I only had an hour to walk around so I felt like I needed to go back and visit again.

Tall ship rigging in the harbor at Dana Point in Southern California.

Images from along the beach near Laguna Beach California.  During my walk along the beach there was a small pod of dolphins feeding.  I watched them for over an hour as they would go out to deeper water and heard the fish to shallow water to feed.  It was a fantastic experience and I was the only person on the section of beach that saw them.  Made some images, but it is just dorsal fins sticking out of the water.

Finely getting back to posting some new images.  Yesterday I toured the San Juan Capistrano Basilica it is famous for the swallows returning every year to nest, although I have heard the birds do not nest there any longer.  It is a very interesting part of Southern California history.  A very worthy stop if you are in So. Cal.
