Simplicity

Beach sea grass on sand.

The simple lines in the sand made for an interesting abstractions.

Fallen

Fallen tree along the Chena River in Fairbanks, Alaska.  This is the normal winter water level, but by the late spring thaw the river will be up to the top of the bank.

White Wall

Looking at the side of an old River boat stern wheeler.  The door and windows with circles and lines attracted my eye to for this composition.

Reed Reflections and Quiet Water

A windless day with quiet water made for some very nice reed reflection abstracts.

Frosted Limbs Detail

Detail of the frosted limbs.  Ice radiates from the top of the limbs and forms an interesting line against the sky.

Minimalism

Door and windows on the side of an old sternwheeler.

Frost blooms from the tree branches creating a wonderful glow around the limbs.  The magic of winter in the arctic.

Frosted Limbs

Winter frost and snow coat the trees with a fine layer of delicate crystals.  As winter continues and temperatures continue to fall, the coating becomes more enveloping.  It is truly a magical sight to see along with great a great subject to photograph.

Snow has finely arrived in the arctic and the trees glisten with the new covering.
