Sunflower

Sunflower after the winter in my garden.
Sun flower center.  The seed pods of a sun flower that was still standing after the long arctic winter, I'm surprised that the birds that stick around all winter did not eat the seeds.

The dome at the San Juan Capistrano Mission Church.  The angles caught my eye along with the tonal scale.
The arch with sun and shadow at Mission San Juan Capistrano.  The mission was established in 1776 and is an excellent place to visit in Southern Cal.

Trees and winters frost

Remembering winter.  With the spring equinox closing out the short days of winters light and the return to longer hours of the sun, I looked back through the winter image files to find this frosty trees in the snowy landscape.

Cliff face. Can you see it?

The lower part of the cliff looked like a face looking out to sea.  Can you see it.
Light from above.  Walking with the camera and exploring the landscape that is above.

At the edge of the river.  Winter ice and snow continue to cover the landscape, spring is just a fleeting distance away and the sun climbs higher in the arctic sky.
