Received news this morning from the International Fine Art Photography Competition Grand Prix De La Decouverte that I'm the recipient of a Juror Award of Merit in the Abstract Category.  It is a huge honor to receive this award. The image below was made at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville Arkansas.  If you are traveling near north west Arkansas this museum is a must stop. There is no charge to tour the museum and the collection is fantastic, a must see.

Recent images from the iPhone and the Hipstamatic app.  Sometimes it is fun to compose close and make images with out thinking about exposure.

Near the Alaska Marine Highway Terminal this little dingy was moored out near a bunch of sail boats and it looked so lonely that I had to make its picture.

A couple of images from my visit to Fort Columbia.  This old military fort is just north of the bridge crossing the Columbia River from Astoria, Oregon.

Images from the deck of the MV Columbia on the trip from Bellingham, WA to Haines, Alaska.  A kayaker headed down the inside passage, a fishing boat at sunset and a Canadian Coast Guard station.  If you are thinking of traveling to Alaska, I recommend the Alaska Marine Highway System for travel to South East Alaska.  Stops are made in Petersberg, Juneau, Wrangel, Ketchikan,

Point Reyes aground.  This boat is behind the grocery store in the small community Inverness on the Tomales Bay.  The road takes you out to the Point Reyes Light House and the Point Reyes National Seashore.
