Image abstractions from my travels. The Antelope Canyon in black and white make an interesting play of light and shadow and the erosion abstraction is from the white rock formations found in the dunes of Death Valley.  Sometimes I have to live with the images for a time before I work on them, looking at them from time, then moving them to the working file. Some go back and forth and some never make it.

New images from the iPhone 4 and Hipstamatic.  In using the fully automatic camera on the iPhone, is that it lets you fully concentrate on composition.

Edited some images from my travels through small towns, Death Valley and White Sands.

From Antelope Canyon near Page Arizona, Death Valley and Joshua Tree here are the some edited images to make up for the last several days.  Death Valley was an excellent adventure with long rough dirt roads back to the Race Track where the wind blows so hard that the rocks get brown across the mud.  Also so e additional images from Bisti Badlands, White Sands, Mesquite Dunes in Death Valley, and the door is from an abandoned town in NM. The journey continues... Keep exploring with your camera and get out to make new images.  Have fun and enjoy yourself...

This morning in the Bisti Badlands, spent a little longer there than planed as I hiked further back into the formations that when I started to hike out, I was a little lost.  Took about an extra hour to find my way out.  A good lesson for having gps. So go for a photo hike and do not get lost.

Todays travels took me to the Bisti Badlands also known as Bisti/Da Na Zin Wilderness Area.  It is located just south of Farmington New Mexico. It was a very challenging day out there with winds gusting to 40 mph and dust, dust and dust... As I wandered amongst the hoodoos and listened to the wind swirl around the formations, I was thinking about photography and how it is about the light and subject, but if you do not get out there with your camera then the light and subject are nothing. So get out there with your camera and push the shutter release.

Traveling the back roads today. Small towns that resemble ghost towns as I can not believe anybody lives there.
