One from back along the back road through central California.  This was another photo that I had to do a u-turn to get.

More from the central coast of Oregon.

From the ancient bristlecone pine forest where lives the oldest tree in the world.  These new images are from my journey to the Patriarch Grove in the Inyo National Forest.  At 11,000 feet the hike is breathtaking and spectacular.  More images to come from the old forest.

Black and white images of Antelope Canyon and Deserted Dreams

Antelope Canyon sandstone curves and Deserted Dreams lonely on the hill.  On my travels through the desert south west, it was a interesting to find houses built in was seems to me to be an a difficult place to scratch out am existence. Antelope Canyon is just on the outskirts of Page Arizona and a place with the well worn foot prints of many photographers.  There are native american guides that have tour operations that will drive you back to the canyons and tour through.  There is a special tour for photographers that I did not go on, but I think that I came away with some acceptable images.

Death Valley Dunes

Sunset at Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes Death Valley National Park.  A great place to visit in the spring time as the temperatures are more tolerable and the when I was hiking the dunes the mesquite trees were alive with flowers and bees.  The buzzing of the bees was amazing to listen to.

Black and white images of Balance rock and elephants feet.

Rock formations from the desert.  Made these two images on my trip through the desert south west.  I can not remember exactly where this was, thus the importance of taking notes.  I believe that it was after the visit to Page Arizona.

Dana Point Harbor

Dana Point Harbor at dusk.

Neutral Density filters and long exposure photography.

Another attempt with the ND filters and long exposures of the ocean and rocks.  Went out to Dana Point along the cliffs just after low tide.  The sky was overcast which gave me exposure times out to about 10 seconds with an f:stop of f:22.  I set the ISO rating to 50 on my 5D mkII.  If you have not tried this method of working and are looking for a new challenge, give it a try.  There are some good tutorials online.
