Ice Patterns
Ice Trails. The small frozen puddle yielded a wonderful image this morning. There is only a few days left this spring to explore these little wonderful worlds as temperatures over night continue to climb to above freezing.

Ice Patterns
Spring has arrived in the interior of Alaska. Temperatures during the day are melting the winters cover and creating pools of water that freeze over night to reveal a wonderful arrangement of ice patterns. These only last a few hours as the sun warms the landscape and returns the ice to liquid form. Each day for the next few weeks the mornings will spent wandering amongst the small puddles looking for interesting ice patterns.

Ice Star
From the ice journeys across the frozen ponds of interior Alaska. Winter continues to hold its grip on the interior and this is one of the best times of year to photograph the ice patterns. The freeze and thaw cycle gives each day new patterns.

Water Dance
Light reflected on the water made for this wonderful abstraction of the world above. The water dances with the play of light across its surface, shimmering in the early morning before the winds disrupt the quiet solitude.
Waiting for spring
On a cloudy day in New Orleans at Jackson Square this denuded branch caught my eye and was just asking to be photographed. The little seed pods and delicate branches against the gray sky formed for me the impression of waiting for spring.
